Does Elden Ring Allow Cross-Platform Play?
Elden Ring does not support cross-platform gaming. This means players on PC cannot join those on consoles, and vice versa.
However, the game does offer cross-generation play. For example, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users can play together, whether cooperatively or competitively. The same applies to Xbox systems, where Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players can connect. Unfortunately, PC players remain isolated and can only interact with others on the same platform.
There are no plans to introduce cross-play in the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Players will continue to be limited to their respective platforms. The expansion will bring new content, such as weapons, equipment, skills, magic, and additional enemies and bosses.
Elden Ring also provides free upgrades from PS4 to PS5, making it easier for players who haven’t yet transitioned to the newer console to enjoy the game.
