Is Red Dead Redemption 2 The Best Game Of All Time?

October 2025 marks seven years since Red Dead Redemption 2 was released, and it’s still the most amazing game I have ever played. An all-time favorite? That’s relative. Though I hold several childhood games closer to my heart, who can honestly say Sonic The Hedgehog compares to Red Dead Redemption 2?

Most of what we talk about in games is likewise relative, subjective, and based on opinion, emotion, and intangible vibes. Saying Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most amazing game I have ever played seems to me not to be subjective. I believe it to be a factual reality.

Naturally, few facts are black and white. The term “impressive” is also subjective; what astounds you could not astound me.

When we consider what games are capable of, how they tell their tales, how they create their worlds, and how they establish a tactile reality in front of us, I don’t believe there’s a single human, gamer or not, that cannot be impressed by Red Dead Redemption 2. 

RDR2: The Finest Storytelling in Gaming History

Its narrative is among the most lauded features of Red Dead Redemption 2.

To engage players on an emotional level, game creators labored for years to create a rich, engaging story. Arthur Morgan, the lead protagonist, is much more than you’re average.
