Третья часть популярной игры, ставшей, пожалуй, уже отдельным жанром, - Castlevania. Платформенная бродилка с видом сбоку все про того же борца с нечистью с кнутом или цепью в руках и парой трюков вроде святой воды или крестов в мешке, плюс ко всему главный герой игры - Тревор Бельмонт может найти напарника - акробата Гранта да Неста, охотника на вампиров Сифу и сына Дракулы Алукарда. Каждый напарник имеет свои плюсы - Грант умеет ползать по стенам и потолку, Алукард умеет превращаться в летучую мышь и летать, Сифа обладает сверхмощным оружием - пламя, молнии и заморозка. Также по ходу игры несколько раз придется выбирать маршрут, вследствие чего сюжет становится еще интересней, так как уровни меняются. Музыкальное сопровождение японской версии сильно отличается из-за использования в картридже дополнительного звукового чипа VRC6.
