The Ultimate List of Jokers in Various Games

When you hear the term “Joker” and apply it to games, there are two that can often immediately be thought about: the Joker character made famous by the Batman comics as part of the DC Universe and those involved in card games.

Taking a look at the first one, he’s become iconic. He is Batman’s archnemesis and has a classic look. Everyone knows exactly who he is when they see him, even if they’ve never watched a film about a superhero or supervillain. He has become so iconic that he has his own movie, which was released in 2019.

The Joker is dressed in a purple suit and has funky green hair. His face has been painted white, and red lipstick is used to create a rather sinister-looking smile or grin. This certainly helps to accentuate his appearance and make him look even more villainous than he already is. Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and Joaquin Phoenix, among others, have all played him.

Of course, other forms of jokers can be found within other games. As highlighted, those that form part of a deck of playing cards are perhaps the most renowned. These cards don’t always need to be used in most games played, but they are decorated beautifully and always come included with a pack.

For video gamers, they will have been able to see several iterations of the Joker (from the Batman franchise) being used. Despite being rather villainous, he is a popular individual. Arguably, he is one of the most popular to have ever been created by DC.

Some have been better than others…

Batman: Arkham Series

In the Batman: Arkham Series collection of games, the Joker is perhaps depicted as the best he has ever been. In these titles, he is arguably one of the greatest video game villains, as he continues to wreak havoc on players throughout.

This version of the Joker uses Mark Hamill to lend his voice, which further explains why this is one of the best. It provides familiarity as he was the actor who narrated the character in the animated series.

Hyper Joker Gold

To give the playing card version of the Joker a fair crack, it has also been used expertly within digitalized games. In fact, it can be found to be used within the gambling industry where it is perhaps more familiar. However, this time, it’s part of the Hyper Joker Gold slot and not as a part of a playing deck.

Players can find a traditional-looking joker on the paytable in this slot game. It acts as the wild, gets up to mischief as it substitutes all regular icons, and helps to create winning sequences. It’s a game that provides plenty of entertainment, and the use of the Joker certainly adds to the overall experiences that are obtained.

Injustice: Gods Among Us

The Joker appears in the DC Universe’s Injustice: Gods Among Us, which sees him come up against Superman. He plays his biggest trick as he deceives the superhero into killing Lois Lane (who is pregnant) and setting off a nuclear bomb in Metropolis.

The Joker is often depicted as a criminal who commits some of the biggest criminal acts possible. This makes him an interesting character to follow, and with players looking to try and stop this from happening with the rest of the universe, it makes the villain all the more despicable.

Joker remains an iconic video game character

While there are many depictions of the Joker, he has become an entertainment icon for many reasons. The character is one of the most recognizable. He has a reputation almost as large as the superheroes that are trying to stop him, which can often be difficult for villains to obtain.

Over the yeThe Ultimate List of Jokers in Various Gamesars, several actors have played him, each bringing their own methodology to the role. Each of these can be seen in the video games that have been created on him, making them all the better.

That said, it’s important to remember he is not the only ‘Joker’. The playing card version of the character is another that is synonymous with the phrase and can be spotted in games on occasion.
